Are you looking for some awesome place to go on vacation? Well if you are I have the perfect place for you! Switzerland!! There are breathtaking views up in the Swiss Alps, amazing skiing, tons of chocolate, a whole palace made of ice, and just an all around great time!

Switzerland is located in the middle of Europe bordered by France, Germany, Austria, and Italy. A large mountain range called the Swiss Alps runs through the southern part of Switzerland.

The Jungfrau region is an amazing place in the famous Swiss Alps that is a huge tourist attraction. It is known as the "Top of Europe" because the highest alp reaches nearly 3454 meters! The Jungfrau is a world of ice and snow that offers unforgettable skiing.

Jungfrau also has a whole palace made entirely of ice! Long passageways lead into large rooms and hallways. There are also room after room full of spectacular ice sculptures and carvings. The palace is constantly having to be re-carved with ice axes and saws. It also has to be kept at -3 degrees Celsius (or about 26 degrees Fahrenheit)! The palace is a shimmering bluish wonderland!

Chocolate Lovers? Switzerland is known worldwide for its amazing chocolates. Chocolate arrived in 1819, but the real Swiss chocolate business began in 1875 when a Swiss manufacturer, Daniel Peters, found a way to combine milk and chocolate to create the first milk chocolate.

One famous tourist spot is the city of Geneva. It is an internationally famous city, that is only a little more than town-sized, but very beautiful with the Rhone River flowing out of Lake Geneva. Lake Geneva is one of the largest lakes in Western Europe. The lake has many great views and is surrounded by many mountains.

Located on the shore of Lake Geneva is Chillon Castle, which is one of the most famous castles in Switzerland. It has three beautiful courtyards and four great halls that offer magnificent views of Lake Geneva. The castle has been used for many things, it was first used as a medieval fort, then as a military arsenal, a prison, a summer residence, and now a museum and tourist attraction.
