HISTORY (partial)

Sweden had an interesting history, it is filled with celebrations and wars.
There was even vikings!
here is an exserp of the history.

The Swedish viking age lasted roughly between the 8th and 11th centuries. It is believed that Swedish Vikings and gutar mainly travelled east and south, going to Finland, the Baltic countries, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine the Black sea and further as far as Baghdad. Their routes passed through the Dnieper down south to Constantinople, on which they did numerous raids. The Byzantine Emperor Theophilos, noticed their great skills in war and invited them to serve as his personal bodyguard, known as the varangian guard. The Swedish Vikings, called "Rus" are also believed to be the founding fathers of Kievan Rus.

Don't you think that was interesting? I thought it was because there was vikings. 217 words
They also have a swedish empire at one point.

GEOGRAPHY
Sweden has long coastlines and large plains. 20% of the country is in the arctic circle.
CULTURE
Apart from traditional Protestant Christian holidays, Sweden also celebrates some unique holidays, some of a pre-Christian tradition. They include Midsummer celebrating the summer solstice; Walpurgis Night (Valborgsmässoafton) on 30 April lighting bonfires; and Labour Day or Mayday on 1 May is dedicated to socialist demonstrations. The day of giver-of-light Saint Lucia, 13 December, is widely acknowledged in elaborate celebrations which betoken its Italian origin and commence the month-long Christmas season.
