The climate in Norway varies throughout the year. The best time of year to travel to Norway is in August. This is the best time of year because it is the warmest time of the year but it isn't that dry because it also gets a lot of rainfall. This is also the best time to go on a hike in the beautiful mountains. If you are by the water and gulf streams then it will be considerably warmer then what you might think especially for being at such a high altitude. If you enjoy snow then you should go to west Norway in December they get many feet of snow! In December the sun sets very early around 3pm but later in the day you may be able to experience and magnificent show of the great Northern lights. The best place to see the Northern lights is in Finnland where they shine the brightest and have more color. May is a very wet time of the year for Norway so you should pack an umbrella. The spring is the best time of the year to see amazing waterfalls but tourist don't come as much then as they do any other time of the year.
Norway's great out doors
The mountains here are great they you should definitely go on a hike through the magnificent forest on the huge mountains of Norway or during the winter go on a skiing/snowboarding trip that will be fun for the whole family.Ski resorts in Norway are open for a while they open on the 3rd big snow of the season and stay open all the way to the middle of May but towards the end April and into May it gets a little wet and slushy. In the wettest seasons such as May and June there are the gorgeous waterfalls roar through the mountains searching for a route to the ocean. There are also beaches in Norway because most of Norway is facing the Northern part of the Atlantic ocean but unfortunately just recently (new years eve of 2011) there has been a huge problem a rise 20 tons of herring have washed up on the northern shore and nobody knows why.
- The fjords that were shaped from the glaciers from the ice age which some small chunks of the glaciers are still currently there today.
- Go to Bergen it is known for its museums and art. It is also called the city of play because so many tourist stop and explore the town and it is the most scenic place in Norway.
- Going to North Cape where the only thing between you and the North Pole is the Svalbard Islands.
- The Rondane National park where there are the highest peaks and the most wild beautiful creatures and nature of all.
